The Iberoamerican Network of Accessible Tourism bets on Cuba.
In recent years, most countries in Latin America and the Caribbean have been developing and implementing initiatives for more accessible tourism and inclusive to the tourist offer for all, which shows the evident need of Ibero-American tourist destinations to work in this area, which undoubtedly favors the fulfillment of the rights of people with disabilities and results in an increase in their quality, competitiveness and profitability and an improvement in their image.
The reasons that have led the Ibero-American Network of Accessible Tourism to choose Cuba to host its most momentous event has been, fundamentally, the important commitment and effort that this Country is developing in favor of promoting and guaranteeing Accessible Tourism for all. , including those with some type of disability or reduced mobility; on the other hand, the work being carried out by its Ministry of Tourism together with the SKEDIO TRAVEL Group and the ECOTUR Agency; in the design, supervision, evaluation and implementation of accessible tourism products in favor of promoting and guaranteeing Accessible and Inclusive Tourism for all, including all those with some type of disability or reduced mobility.
Diego González Velasco, President of the Ibero-American Network of Accessible Tourism has offered his support to Cuba, to advance in the development of the accessible theme in the country and thanked the Cuban Government for its availability to celebrate the IV Ibero-American Summit of Accessible Tourism next year. CITA 2020, states that during this Summit, Cuba will become the showcase of a destination that has managed to transform itself and become an accessible tourist destination; Believe and trust that the Greater Antilles will be one of the most important hosts that this Summit has had.
